Lucien Crochet Sancerre Rouge "La Croix du Roy" 2016
It takes 40 year old vines of Pinot Noir planted on a combination of
Kimmerigean marl and Oxfordian limestone to create a wine with this
perfect combination of structure and coquettishness. Traditional
vinification in every way concluding in a one year stint in older
Burgundy barrels and demi-muids followed by some rest in inox vats.
Lovely floral notes of lavender, jasmine and roses with a deep black
cherry core and minerals, spices and a bit of dark chocolate all
coalesce into a complex, harmonious wine to enjoy now through 2027.
