Federico is the former agronomist for the great wines of Gaja for 15
years before falling in love with Sicily. Now he's making urgent yet
elegant wines from Nerello Mascalese. This single-vineyard wine is named
"Il Purgatorio" because of its stark, purgatory-like look but the wine
is anything but... 100% Nerello Mascalese with such suave sophistication
to the bright Bing cherry, pomegranate, lilac, and cinnamon notes. Long
and striking in its balance, enjoy this supple gem now through 2031.
