Domaine Bzikot Puligny Montrachet La Rousselle 2022 (90) - While there is no little "1er" after this wine's moniker, it lacks for absolutely nothing and quite honestly stands a cut above the lions' share of premier cru white you will come across. This wine is a direct result of importer Juan Prieto's struggle to get Sylvain Bzikot to bottle this tiny lieu-dit on its own rather than blend it into his village wine.  I remember tasting La Rousselle years ago when the discussion about how to approach the wine happened. I felt, as did Juan that this wine was so compelling, dynamic, and unique that it HAD to be its own wine and have its own identity.  Sylvain finally relented with the excellent 2008 vintage. Now the great 2022 arrives and it is a wine that has it all:  1er cru weight and texture, loads of citrus, nectarine and sea salt, minerals with great tension and supernatural length for village-level wine. You really won't find a better value from Puligny, in my opinion...a show-stopping white with all the bells and whistles!
