Other People's Pinot Pinot Noir Willamette Valley 2015
Andre Mack has done it again. Employing the ultra-talent of Laurent Montalieu to make a brilliant Pinot Noir from his personal vineyard in Eola-Amity Hills. All of the fruit comes from the picturesque Roserock Vineyard and the vinification is as natural as can be. Pure cherry, cranberry and spice tones abound, this may be "other people's pinot" but I'm sure glad its mine...I'm down with O.P.P.

Domaine Les Pins "Le Clos Les Pins" Bourgueil 2015
From a juicy vintage like 2015 and gravelly-laden soils of sand and clay, the Le Clos Les Pins is a superbly fresh and satisfying red. 100% Cabernet Franc which wears it's leafy tones like seasoning as the core of vibrant red fruits drives the train. Phillippe Pitault-Landry keeps it clean and crunchy with lovely black cherry fruit, leaf tobacco, minerals and a touch of strawberry. This is great barbeque red, medium in body and long in finish. Enjoy now through 2024. |

Umani Ronchi Verdicchio "Casal di Serra" 2017
Firmly recognized as the top estate in the Marche, Umani Ronchi contiunes to push the envelope of what is possible with not only Rosso Conero (more on that soon!) but also with Verdicchio and Pecorino. This pretty Verdicchio is somewhat akin to "Grand Cru" with is lovely texture, bracing acidity perfect balance and cavalcade of melon, pears, white peach and papaya. Enjoy now or over the next 3 years as I suspect this will gain even more intrigue with short term aging. |

Clos des Grands Primos Muscadet Sevre et Maine 2016
Michel Bedouet, having the good sense and foresight to convert all his vineyards to being certified organic, now is making possibly the best Muscadet on the planet. This wine has it all...from the zippy lime-infused, green apple profile to the slight yeasty and briny notes of great Muscadet. Simultaneously fresh and textured, this wine brings supreme presence and a certain "je ne sais quoi" that leaves us speechless. Made for all things from the sea, but equally at home with poultry and and game birds, enjoy this wine now or anytime over the next 8 years. Oh yeah -- did I mention it will age like a champ? Yum... |

Domaine des Bouzons Cotes du Rhone Villages Cuvee Beauchamp 2015
The Cuvee Beauchamp is treated in a similar manner to Marc Serguier's Cotes du Rhone Felicite, making the major difference here the terroir. Grenache becomes the dominant grape variety in this blend comprising 80% with the remainder Syrah. Showing more texture and structure, the Beauchamp is bigger boned and possesses jammy dark berry fruit, plums, kirsch, minerals and hints of pepper. I predict this wine will have a longer life than one would think for a Cotes du Rhone Villages and I would hold a few bottles for aging. Best now through 2023. |
