This is the best Rum I tasted in the Dominican Republic.
It was challenging to find great wine during my vacation in DR, so I decided to enjoy the local spirit, Dominican Rum. I tasted all the styles, ranging from light to dark. And to be honest, I wasn't impressed until I tasted this gem. This Rum is aged in ex-bourbon barrels; it's smooth and has the perfect touch of sweetness. It drinks like an aged Bourbon but for a fraction of the price. This is the best Rum (Ron in Spanish) I've tasted in DR.
Barcelo 'Imperial' Ron Dominicano
Imperial is uniquely different from other Dominican rums because it is made from the fermented juice of sugar cane and not from molasses. The result is a smoother, more well-rounded taste that showcases the actual characteristics of the sugar cane. Barcelo Imperial gives you sweet aromas of buttercream, dried cherry, intense vanilla, and caramelized walnuts. The palate is round, smooth, and balanced with a long persistent finish. Enjoy it straight, on the rocks, or in your Manhattan cocktail.
$32 per bottle net. *ONLY 12 bottles available.
