Store Closed but the Offer is Hot Stellar Mature Cab from Bill Easton...
We are closed today due to the snow storm (Thursday Feb 18th) bearing down on us. Hopefully you have a couple bottles to keep you warm today as you watch the flakes fall. BUT Roberto has tasted a tremendous Cabernet from Bill Easton that you just gotta try... Stay Safe!
Stellar 2012 Cabernet from Easton Wines: A Matured California Gem for $45 We first fell in love with winemaker Bill Easton’s wines when we tasted his 1999 Zinfandel. During the tasting, Eva, our talented wine sales person, mentioned that the winery was going to release their top Cabernet, made from a single vineyard, and aged in used Bordeaux barrels this year. Long story short -- we tasted it, and it’s amazing! Easton Cabernet is a fantastic matured wine from a great vintage, at a super price. This ready-to-drink wine (enjoy now though 2034) is a limited gem won’t last in the store long.
Easton Wines Shenandoah Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2012 The fruit for this 9-year old Cabernet comes from the famous Baldinelli Vineyard in Shenandoah Valley, California. The Valley is known for having the oldest vines in the country. The grapes to make this fantastic Cabernet come from 70-year old vines that are head-trained and dry-farmed, producing rich, concentrated berries. Winemaker Bill Easton ages these grapes in new and used Bordeaux barrels for 2 years and an additional 3 years prior to its release. The winery only releases their wines when they’re ready to drink; 2012 is the latest release. Easton Cabernet is loaded with aromas of cedar, tobacco, and asian spices. On the palate lie flavors of blackberry, cassis with pleasant St. Julien-like texture and silky tannins. This beautiful wine has a great balance, intensity and it’s ready to enjoy now though 2034.
