Corte Gardoni's Vivacious Red from Bardolino...

From the gentle rolling hillsides of Bardolino, this red is the very definition of "versatility".

Having visited this tremendous small producer in 2019 (seems like a decade ago now) I fell in love with not only the people, but the land and the great attention to detail.  The family is everything at Corte Gardoni as we were greeted by not only Gianni Piccoli, the legendary figure of the region, but his sons...brothers Mattia, Stefano and Andrea who all share the responsibilities these days.  The passion and pride of the family is impossible to ignore, as is their generosity.  For on top of tasting us on their wide array of value priced offerings, they opened up multiple bottles of old vintages of their Becco Rosso and even a nearly 20 year old Cabernet that they produced.  It was impressive indeed!

But today we offer their Bardolino Le Fontane 2019, a wine so succulent that it just begs for food.  Pizza, pasta, poultry, pork, game birds, lamb...this can get the job done in a big way for a small price!
