Luigi Giordano Barbaresco Cavanna 2016 This wine is a true gem... Cavanna is a historic cru in Barbaresco that lies just below the tower in town and always is about fragrance. This (and the 65 year old vines at their disposal) is why this wine presents itself so lifted and elegant. Other great producers like Moccagatta, Gaja and De Forville also farm this gorgeous hillside site. Pretty floral iris tones with exuberent raspberry notes and dried leaves, this wine possesses supple and very drinkable tannins and excellent length. An OUTSTANDING value to enjoy now through 2028. PS - I had the great fortune to visit the winery in 2019 and fell in love with not only the wines but the people. Matteo Giordano is a super talent who is as gracious and likeable a man as they come!
