Exclusive Vintage Grappa Release: Limited 2014 Braida’s Gem Pre-Sale
Two years ago, we visited Braida Winery in Piedmont, Italy to barrel taste the new release of their best Barbera d’Asti, Bricco dell’Uccellone, before it was bottled. During our last visit, we discovered two barrels hidden and separated from the rest. Long story short, those were grappa barrels, and they were aging it for more than 36 months. Here is what you need to know about this fantastic grappa: First, Braida’s grappa is distilled by Berta, one of Italy’s best regarded distilleries. Second, the spirit is vintage and single vineyard; the winery only uses 2014 Barbera (great year in piedmont) coming from their best vineyard, Bricco dell'Uccellone. Third, the grappa is invecchiata (aged) in used Bricco’s Barbera d’Asti barrels for more than 36 months to add more texture and floral notes. These 3 reasons make Braida’s grappa rare and unique in the world of spirits. It’s rich and elegant with a long finish - in short, delicious! Braida Grappa Invecchiata Bricco dell’Uccellone 2014 Pure caramel, vanilla, butterscotch and floral aromas practically jump from the glass in this highly-praised and perfectly-aged grappa. Once in your mouth, the sweet oak and floral notes continue with a thick and oily texture that coats your mouth in a very soothing way. Braida’s spirit is one of the best aged grappas on the market. It’s the perfect after dinner drink to sip and relax.
