And while his killer (and I do me KILLER) Cabernet Sauvignon is north of $70 per bottle, Steve now makes a "village" Cabernet that is comprised of barrels that didn't make it into the main wine but is still all farmed and made by Steve Matthiasson.  The wine is definitely more approachable and we think it is the PERFECT Summer Cabernet.

"As with all of our Cabernet Sauvignon, the fruit was hand harvested in small lots and fermented at low temperatures. It was punched down or pumped over only twice per day; we don’t strive for a high rate
of extraction, instead choosing to preserve the freshness and high-toned aromatics. Since the fermentation temperatures were cool, the fermentation was long and slow, generally lasting for two to three weeks. The wine was aged for 20 months in mostly used barrels with a few new barrels included for spice—it is a Napa Valley Cabernet after all and a little new oak is delicious." -  Steve Matthiasson

Filled with wild mixed berries, baking spices, cocoa nibs, tobacco and a touch of black cherry, this is a gorgeous and luscious Cabernet that checks in at a modest 13.5 % alcohol.  Long and detailed, enjoy this wine now through 2028.
