Brunello Magic from Cerbaia

A New (and Magnificent) Find Uncorked...

One thing I know for sure is that the 2015 Brunello vintage is shaping up to be something special...

I've tasted enough 15's to realize that the year is just the perfect juxtaposition of fruit and firm.  And by firm, I mean the underlying structure that makes Brunello age like Sophia Loren and provide intrigue for years.  But for those that want to "pop-n-pour", you will be equally enthralled by what is in the glass.

These days, we have to work a bit differently than normal.  And by that I mean, discovering new wines is more challenging since we don't have normal tasting appointments any longer.  But our import partners have been great -- providing us with samples of new projects like this stunner from Cerbaia whose neighbors include Sassetti-Pertimali, Valdicava and Altesino.  Now that is some killer terroir to be surrounded by...but this small 12 hectare estate is blazing a new trail for Brunello.  One that is deeply rooted in tradition but utilizes the know-how of today's progression to make something unique and captivating.  This is freakin' captivating!
