We are thrilled to launch Quinta da Costa Pinhão, the seventh generation Morais estate in the Pinhão Valley of Portugal’s breathtaking Douro Valley, arriving to the US Market for the first time. Historically a ‘Grade A’ Port producing vineyard, these 17 hectares perched at about 450 meters overlook the dramatic Pinhão Valley and surround the estate’s refurbished 19th Century winery. Refurbished in the sense that they fixed some cracks and added some tanks and barrels but the ancient concrete lagers and gravity fluid structure have remained in their original state and are used as a function of the winery today.

These wines are made by the humble winery owner, Miguel Morais, and his friend, the famed winemaker Luis Seabra. Together this duo offer tradition, experience, vineyard quality and innovation to the collaboration - a brilliant combination.

Their process is groundbreaking in the emerging Douro wine market. Earlier harvests result in Lower alcohols and brighter acidity, and their whole cluster fermentation technique in concrete keeps the wines clean and structured on the palate. The most impressive quality these wines boast is the juxtaposition between the density of the blue fruits and succulent textures of the wine to the elevated freshness on the palate and oak integration, an elusive combination.
