We're Open and You Should Treat Yourself to Diebolt Vallois...

Uncertain times and remarkable times... I honestly never thought there would be a day where I would have to close the store to clients browsing the shelves but here we are.  Which is exactly why you need to treat yourself...

Champagne -- if you've been reading our offerings for a while you know it is one of my passions.  There are a myriad of reasons from the versatility that Champagne has, to the joy of the fine bubbles in the glass, to the depth and complexity of the beverage...it really has no equal to me.  And yes, for celebrating.

Could there be a better time than now to celebrate life?

I say no.  In fact, I have been staying home like everyone with my wife cooking up delicious meal after delicious meal and me pulling wine from our cellar (which is in the basement of 56 so I have to plan ahead) to enjoy now.  Why not pull the cork on that special bottle and why not celebrate... Sunday!

I had the opportunity to visit Diebolt Vallois in early February and it was a highlight of our journey in France.  Weary after some marathon tasting in the Cote de Beaune and Cote de Nuits as well as a great day in Chablis, we were certainly a little tired and palate fatigued...in the best of ways.

And then Isabelle Diebolt showed the astounding and penetrating energy of her personality that directly is reflected in their wines.  It was invigorating and woke us all up!  A magical tasting of their tremendously fine, precise and super delicious bubblies...

This one is my favorite that they make, the Diebolt-Vallois Champagne Brut "Cuvee Prestige" NV. It is gorgeous!
