And then we found out that one of our favorite value Cabernets was coming out with a Stags Leap District wine. It is VERY hard to find Stags Leap District Cabernet under $60 per bottle, let alone under $50. Truth be told, it is my favorite spot in Napa with many of my favorite producers bringing to life stunning wines from their dusty soils. So we RAN towards this wine once we tasted it and heard the price...a tremendous value that you could cellar for a decade or more or drink right now with a hearty meal. Believe me, this is the one. Sueno Profundo Cabernet Sauvignon Stags Leap District 2013 This is a stunning value in Napa Cab that is made from wine purchased from a VERY prominent, small, expensive Napa property (we can't say the name) whose wines sells for over $75 per bottle. Fortunately our supplier was able to strike a deal to buy some excess wine at an excellent price and pass the value on to us! Beautiful, supple, ripe Napa Cab with dark berries, earth, plum, hints of mocha and spice that is plush but balanced and layers of flavor that hint at its high pedigree. Super value, but don't wait - it won't be around long! $40 per bottle - $37 each on 6 bottles - $34 each on a case of 12 or more
