So without further adieu, here are the selections of our staff at 56 Degree Wine for your Thanksgiving dinner. In addition, each wine listed here will be on sale so don't miss the savings either! Joe Bembry - 56 Degree Wine
The 56 Degree Head Honcho is in love with this new arrival from the Rhone, the Saint Amant Beaumes de Venise Rouge Grangeneuve 2012. This deeply colored red is super fragrant due to the little drop of Viognier added to the 100 year old Grenache vines with some Syrah and Carignan. 100 year old vines? That's concentration folks...concentration without heaviness. This is filled with violets, plums, black currants and a touch of bacon. It's gorgeously endowed but not heavy...a perfect foil for your bird, cranberries and all the trimmings. $19.50 per bottle ON SALE (reg. $23)
Roberto has a razor sharp palate and his love of Burgundy brings him to his selection of the Fontaine Gagnard Bourgogne Rouge 2012. A wise pick indeed. Roberto loves the lively berry tones, the lack of new oak and the clean, crisp and super long finish. This is fantastic Pinot Noir that everyone will love. It should work perfectly with your turkey and all the trimmings. $24.50 per bottle ON SALE (reg. $29)
Dan is our resident spirits/beer expert but he's going bubbly on Thanksgiving selecting the Bele Casel Prosecco Valdobiadene NV. "Every holiday meal with my family and friends must be kicked off by popping the cork on something sparkling! I like the Bele Casel Prosecco. Pale gold in color, perfumed with citrus and white flowers, this sparkler has zest and lift from the bubbles that finishes with hints of toastiness and minerality. Great by itself, but even better with nuts and cheeses!" $14 per bottle ON SALE (reg. $16)
Ted just joined 56 Degree Wine a month ago but his vast knowledge and dedication to all things vinous have made him a perfect fit at the shop. Ted is a huge French wine fan but he's going All American with his pick of the Bench Chardonnay Russian River Valley 2013. This great white has plushness but no oak making it perfect for turkey and all the different sides we encounter at the Thanksgiving table. Super versatile white for sure... $18.50 per bottle ON SALE (reg. $22) |
