Ridge Geyserville from Italy - It's True...The Perfect Thanksgiving Wine |
|
I couldn't believe it myself... While tasting through a laundry list of very lovely wines at the brand spanking new Michael Skurnik Wines office in NYC, Mark Fornatale presented me with a wine from Puligia labeled "Zinfandel". Not the strangest thing in the world to see that on the label as I was always told that the native Primitivo grape and Zinfandel were kissing cousins. But this particular wine, this delicious little wine is actually made from cuttings of Paul Draper's Ridge Geyserville vineyard. As the story goes, the fine folks at Racemi visited the historic Ridge Vineyards back in 1990 and grabbed some vines to bring back to Puglia. The rest is history... Full on California Zinfandel from Ridge in the terroir of Puglia and the wine is superb. Zinfandel has always been perfect for Thanksgiving dining and this one fits the bill to "T". Grab some for your dinner table today. It's very, very cool wine... Joe Bembry - 56 Degree Wine
