Chateau Laffitte Teston Madiran "Reflets de Terroir" 2009 - $19.50 - The old joke with Madiran is that they used to blend in a little Cabernet Sauvignon to soften it up - but today's winemakers have learned to tame this intense red wine from the Pyrenees with better farming techniques and gentler winemaking methods without sacrificing it's inherently rugged soul. Craft Brews and Spirits! Now that we have a little more room to spread out we are expanding our collection of small batch artisan beers and spirits. Newly arrived this week are Trappist brews from Chimay (including the Special Cent Cinquante - only 500 cases for the country!) Meantime London Porter, Brasserie Dupont's Posca Rustic Belgian Ale brewed with no hops and a bundle of herbs and spices instead. Also look for hand-crafted Armagnac from Marie Duffau ranging from 6 to 25 years of age, Pastis d'Autrefois from the south of France, micro distilled Small's Gin and The Exchange Craft Vodka from Oregon, and off-the-charts great artisan Rums from Louisiana's Celebration Distillery.
