Spring Mountain Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon 2002
Spring Mountain Vineyard is an 850-acre estate of forest and vineyard on the eastern slopes of Spring Mountain next to Saint Helena in Napa Valley. The diversity of the vineyard results in wine that is compelling with structure, complexity, and purity. This is cool climate and high altitude Cab at its finest; the purity of fruit comes through in the aromatics, with notes of black currant, dried cherries, cocoa, dried herbs, and spice. In the glass, the wine has a dark hue with a brick-ish outline and the palate is balanced and complex with layers of dried dark fruit, tobacco leaf, herbs, and cedar. Spot on right now, it'll drink beautifully for the next 5 years.
