Mas Jullien Terraces du Larzac "Autour de Jonquieres" 2014
A library release from this great estate, this is a thrilling vintage
of their top bottling. 40% Mourvedre (seriously old vines), 40%
Carignan and 20% Syrah is grown from poor limestone soils. Aged for 2
years in large old foudres, this wine is both rugged and refined all at
once. Waves of blackberry, provincal herbs, plums, hot asphalt and lit
cigar mix with supple yet formidible tannins to create a superb wine of
distinction. So alluring now but this wine can age effortlessly for
another 6-10 years. Wow!
