2009 Carl Roy Cabernet Sauvignon Spring Mountain
Spring Mountain fruit is a wonder to behold in the glass, and this offering from Carl Roy truly delivers the soils of that site to perfection. As one of the smaller regions of the Napa, there is not a ton of wine produced. But what is made is truly special when in the hands of an artisan, as the wines tend to have more structure, aromatic complexity and depth of fruit than other areas. This offering from Carl Roy is a superb example of terroir expression as Chad Alexander has crafted a wild berry scented wine with currants, spice and hints of fig. Possessing enough tannin/acid balance to age a bit, enjoy this fantastic broad shouldered wine now through 2017.
