2007 Ada Nada Barbaresco Cichin -
Cichin is the masculine flip-side to Elisa's feminine wiles. And its 45 year old vines deliver more structure and power; a density to the fruit and a lushness through the midpalate that as alluring a wine as I've had in a while. Pure Nebbiolo in the truest form, the 2007 Cichin pounces on the palate with meaty breadth but is not the least bit over-extracted. Black raspberry, cassis, smoke, lilac and sous bois notes are beautiful and very long in the finish. A complete and captivating wine that should have a long life in a cool cellar... The 1998 version tasted after this (unfortunately unavailable) knocked my socks off! And its going to have a similar evolution. Enjoy now through 2024...
