Two Delicious Affordable Right Bank Bordeaux - Perfect for a Winter Night! Snowed in and need a few winter reds to restock? I am just back from 10 days in Burgundy and while I love those wines, coming back to this winter weather calls for a change of pace and some Bordeaux! Both of our offers from the fantastic 2009 vintage show that you don't have to spend a lot to get a great bottle from one of the greatest wine regions on earth! Ripe, powerful and lush, with classic right bank supple tannins, 2009 concentration and richness, and smooth silky tones, these are wines that are delicious today and will also make excellent cellar candidates for medium term aging. Both on sale while supplies last or through Sunday February 9th. Wines arrive Friday - Cheers! Chris Cree - 56 Degree Wine Clos du Pavillon Puisseguin Saint-Emilion 2009 - $29.99 on sale - Dark supple and classy, with plum, spice, sandalwood and lovely round, mouth-filling fruit. From a small parcel of vines (1/4 acre of 30-35 year old vines) in the satellite right bank region of Puisseguin Saint Emilion. Organically farmed since 2011, one of the very few to practice organically in Bordeaux. Delicious, supple, and ready to drink! Chateau Leydet Saint Emilion Grand Cru 2009 - $39.99 on sale - Grand Cru Saint Emilion from the great 2009 vintage, this is a bend of 60% Merlot and 40% Cabernet Franc that has a dark inky purple color, plenty of deep plumy fruit, solid and mouth filling, with integrated oak, earth, dark fruits and a complex layered and long finish. A bit larger framed than the Clos du Pavillon, as one would expect from its Grand Cru Classification. Drink now with a decant but this will definitely age, develop and improve for 6-10 years.
