Olga Raffault Chinon Les Picasses 2007
The new release from Olga Raffault comes from jumps ahead of the massive 2006 (hard as nails right now, maybe one of the epic Raffaults of the future though!) as it is softer, rounder and all around more approachable. Characterized by lovely aromatics, wines of balance and detail. The liveliness of the fruit here is truly awe-inspiring as there is a wealth of dark berries, game, spice and fresh herbs. Showing the exuberance of youth, the 2007 is bright, mid-weight - almost Pinot Noir like in body.
